Clinical Study with EAV for the 76 Cases of Functional Gastrointestinal Disturbance

Abstract
Background :
The objective confirmation of patient¢¥s subjective symptom is important in terms of functional disorders, but unfortunately the mechanism itself can not explain the symptoms clearly. Definite diagnostic method is not established yet for the functional disorders despite of its necessity. Those various investigations for clinical diagnosis and finding its subjective symptom have been done to reveal the relationship between the gastrointestinal tract and another organs by using non-invasive EAV system.
Methods: The screening tests for EAV values were made in reference to the number of 76 patients (male: 28 & female: 48) who visited the Hana Oriental Hospital from July 1997 to June 1998. Various laboratory findings and I.D from EAV were measured by Meridian (Bio-functional Medical System). Subjective symptom - epigastrium disethesia, brash, belching, egestion, distention, etc - was classified by each organ, Validity was tested by the CMP, 4 BAZ, and I.D(Indicator Drop).
Results :
There were statistically significant CMP increase in the CMPs of liver, stomach, large intestine, circulation, spleen, pancreas, urinary bladder, liver and stomach showed 57% high in CMP score, compared to the laboratory findings of subjective symptom by the comparison between the variables of the assessed clinical or laboratory findings and organ specific CMP score.
Conclusion:
Our results show that the essence gastrointestinal syndrome is gan-yu-bi-ruo. EAV measurement value and laboratory test results that represent the function of a organ system showed statistical significance, which imply the possibility of useful and effective application of Eav measurement to diagnosis.
